Rich The Kid recently went live on his Instagram to record what seemed to be a confusing situation for the young rapper. Unknown where he was flying to or who he was with, the Queens rapper was stopped before boarding his plane and was asked to give up his possessions in order for the officials to search him and his belongings. Just as they suspected, officers found a way over 10k in cash in which Rich The Kid did not declare before passing through the TSA checkpoint.

The rule simply states that “it is legal to transport any amount of currency or monetary instruments into or out of the United States; anyone carrying over 10k must declare the amount by filing a Report of International Transportation of Currency or Monetary Instruments.” Unfortunately, Rich was not aware of this and had quite an altercation with the airport staff.

Streamed all on Instagram live he recorded himself being held in a back room with multiple officers and TSA staff. The video shows him merely standing with his backpack on with bags of money on the table while officials try to explain that he cannot fly with his money without declaring it. The rapper finally had enough and let out a statement that he is choosing not to fly anymore in which case he ‘does not have to declare anything and can purely just leave, it was not that simple. After ending the live stream, it’s unknown what took place, but things seemed to clear up as the day went on and the artist hasn’t acknowledged the incident since.

Coming off momentum from his recently released single “Boss Bitch” (feat. Coi Leray), he has consistently shown us throughout the years that he is serious about his music career and is always focused on the bigger picture. With that being said we can only expect him to use this incident to his advantage and we may even get some lyrics out of it.
