Yaqub Talib, the brother of retired NFL cornerback Aqib Talib, has been sentenced to 37 years in prison for the murder of Michael Hickmon, a North Texas youth football coach. Talib, aged 40, entered a guilty plea in relation to the killing of Hickmon and accepted the plea deal that had been negotiated.

The shooting incident occurred on August 13, 2022, during a youth football game where Yaqub and Aqib Talib were coaching. During the altercation, Yaqub Talib allegedly pulled out a handgun and fired multiple shots at Hickmon, who was struck several times.
