NBA 2K24 is set to pay homage to LeBron James by featuring his very own era in the upcoming edition of this iconic basketball video game. 2K Sports made the announcement on Tuesday, disclosing that NBA 2K24 will introduce a fifth era within its MyNBA mode. This mode was initially launched in 2K23 and encompassed four distinct historical periods: the Magic vs. Bird Era from the 1980s, the Jordan Era of the ’90s, the Kobe Era that defined the 2000s, and the present-day Modern Era.
The game’s official description teases: “Experience the rise of modern super teams – Will LeBron James and the Heatles aim for not just five, but six championships…? And what about the MVP trio of Durant, Harden, and Westbrook in OKC? It’s all in your hands to decide.”
The highly-anticipated release is scheduled for September 8, and will prominently feature the LeBron Era. In this mode, players will have the opportunity to relive LeBron James’ remarkable journey, starting from his “taking his talents to South Beach” decision in 2010 to his back-to-back championship victories with the Miami Heat in 2012 and 2013. The experience will continue with his return to Cleveland in 2014, his intense battles against the Golden State Warriors’ superteam, and his eventual move to the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018, culminating with him breaking the all-time scoring record in 2022. It promises to be an immersive and exciting gaming experience for fans of LeBron and basketball enthusiasts alike.
