There’s no looking over the fact that Kodak Black has made a name for himself in the music industry and just on social media in general. With his unintentional viral memes all the way to his music-making, the Florida rapper has been living his best life since his XXL freshman year back in 2016. Arguably a part of the best XXL freshman roster we’ve seen in a while. One thing is for sure, Kodak has not been quiet this past year. Since his first drop in January of 2021, “Last Day In,” he has put out 6 singles, an EP, and he recently hinted at a new album coming soon.
On June 11, 2021, Kodak decided to celebrate his 24th birthday with the release of his new EP, rightfully called “Happy Birthday Kodak.” The project has a total of just four songs but with each piece, Kodak is able to show and express different parts of himself. This body of work was split down the middle between Kodak himself and the featured artists he chose to put on with him. Jacques made an appearance on the third track along with Rylo Rodriguez, Yo Gotti, and Lil Keed who made their presence known on the fourth and final track.
However, just one day before the release of “Happy Birthday Kodak” he dropped a single preview off the EP called “Feelin’ Peachy,” which seems to be his fan’s first choice. Containing beat production from Snapz, DzyOnDaBeat, Santo, Ricx, and plenty more it’s soothing to hear how Kodak flows over such an exotic cluster of vibrations. So far, this has been the only song on the EP to have its own video attached and has already surpassed 4 million views within just the first week. Released on behalf of Atlantic Records, the “Feelin’ Peachy” visuals can only be found on Kodak’s Youtube channel, while his EP can be found on all streaming platforms.
