Memphis rapper Key Glock has officially returned with the release of his newest studio album, “Yellow Tape 2.” The independent project was initially released onto all streaming platforms as of Friday, November 5, 2021, and is the second series of Glock’s hit project “Yellow Tape,” which dropped back in January 2020. This specific body of work contains zero added features from other artists as the Tennessee talent looks to pave his own path to the top of the music industry.
The album embodies a total of 20 songs over the course of a pleasurable 53 minutes and 33 seconds. Clearly a fan favorite of the project, “Ambition For Cash” has already propelled itself into a handful of frequently used playlists, the most noticeable one being Spotify’s RapCaviar. Within its first week being made available to the public’s ears, “Yellow Tape 2” has already sold approximately 36k album-equivalent units throughout the United States alone; quite impressive for a solo project from an independent artist, not to mention with little to no promotion behind it. This specific album also withholds a surplus of beat production credits from various professional outlets such as Tay Keith, Bandplay, Triple G Ty, Buddha Bless, Little Island, Sosa808, Montana Corleon, Don Deal, Manni IL, Pyrex, Kill, Juicy J and so many more.
The 24-year-old rapper is currently coming off the release of his previously dropped single, “Hustlers & Shooters” (feat. KATO2X & Zo Trapalot), which was made public just two days before his album on November 2. He is still also winding down from the hype of his previous collaborative project, “Dum and Dummer 2” (with Young Dolph), which debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard Top 200 chart after its primary release in March of this year. As Key Glock seems to be solely focusing on increasing his independent talents, it will be interesting to observe how well his solo project does and what he has in store for his listeners in the future.
