The exclusive investment corporation and media company founded by NBA Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant, along with his manager Richard Kleiman, Thirty-Five Ventures have officially signed the paperwork to collaborate with Weedmaps in order to rid of the bad assumptions that ordinary people make about cannabis. With the main goal to “deconstruct negative stereotypes” around marijuana, the partnership between these two businesses will include various videos and podcasts that show cannabis in a new light as being specifically used for “potential athlete recovery and wellness.” This has been a popular issue as of late ever since track star Sha’Carri Richardson recently tested positive for weed consumption which unfortunately excluded her from being able to compete in this year’s Tokyo Olympics.

“The whole fact of the matter is that this broken system was only amplified with Sha’Carri Richardson. It cemented how important this deal was.” We are all pretty smart to know that cannabis in no way enhances your performance,” Kleiman previously stated to the public when asked about their motivation in moving forward with this collaboration. Durant chimed in when asked about why he went through with the partnership at this specific time, in which he said, “Now more than ever, there is so much opportunity for growth in the cannabis industry as well as the removal of any remaining stigmas around its use.”

This specific plan has been orchestrated behind the curtain for approximately six months before inevitably being revealed to the public in mid-August 2021. During that time both teams came together to discuss the different ways of showing and educating certain individuals of the general public who already have their minds made up about the marijuana laws. Their first substantial project is currently set to be released in the early stages of 2022, yet has no particular information behind what will directly be talked about throughout the series. With the NBA recently changing its stance on marijuana use, there is no doubt that Kevin Durant will have plenty to say considering he is a strong responsible cannabis user himself.
