2022 Grammy Award nominee artist Jonathan Lyndale Kirk, more professionally known as DaBaby, has returned to the spotlight with the release of his newest studio album Baby On Baby 2. The long-awaited body of work was dropped onto all streaming platforms this past Friday, September 23, 2022, marking the rapper’s second full project of the year; DaBaby publicized BETTER THAN YOU back in early March – an exclusive collaborative album that consisted of 12 songs with multi-platinum selling artist YoungBoy Never Broke Again.

Fans have been waiting for this specific album for over three years ever since the release of his platinum-selling debut project, Baby On Baby (2019), withholding only a total of four singles with featured verses being Baby Sitter (feat, Offset), Celebrate (feat. Rich Homie Quan), Joggers (feat. Stunna 4 Vegas), and Best Friend (feat. Rich The Kid).

Keeping his business completely solo, with the one exception of Anthony Hamilton on BLANK, the Charlotte, North Carolina rapper successfully delivered an energetic 14-track studio album with a clear message to the rest of the music industry. Currently, his listeners are attracting loads of attention to specific lines that the 30-year-old artist implemented in his third song, BOOGEYMAN

“You play with me that s**t was childish/ The day before she said that Torey Lanez shot her, I was f*****g on Megan Thee Stallion,” DaBaby states in his first verse. “Waited to say that s**t on my next album/ Hit it the day before too/ But I kept it player, I ain’t say nothing ‘bout it… Had her pretty boy, boyfriend tweeting me, ready to die ‘bout the bitch like a coward.” He concluded the touchy subject, “I told you n****s don’t play, now you gone have to handle me/ I poked the muthaf*****g bear, I’m an animal.”
