The highly popular platform OnlyFans recently made the public announcement that they will begin the process of banning all sexually explicit content from creators and users. Not even a day after this statement was made negative feedback from content creators from all around the world came rolling in, including a few celebrities who would take matters into their own hands. Well-known Compton rapper and OnlyFans creator himself, Tyga decided to delete his account with OnlyFans in order to announce the release of his very own competing company called Myystar.
“Just deleted my OnlyFans, started my own platform Myystar, more futuristic, better quality, and only a 10% fee… Creators will also be able to make the content of their choice! Apply now to be the first to get an invite,” he released in a caption uploaded to his Instagram profile. Due to the recent change in policy guidelines over at OnlyFans, this was a very smart move on the 31-year-old artist’s behalf as he will most likely gain a majority of content creators to switch over to his more free and diverse promotional platform. Especially since the official launch of Myystar takes place in October which is when OnlyFans has announced they will end their streak of allowing the creation and selling of any sexually explicit content.
Not only is Myystar giving their employees and audiences more freedom with what they are allowed to create, but the corporation is also charging 10% less of a fee for overall profit taken from their creators. A statement released from a representative at Myystar reads, “Creators will have the ability to sell NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain, as well as boasting features relevant to the music industry.” Tyga added, “I know how many people make a lot of money on OnlyFans, and that is where most of their revenue is at… I want to give these people hope.” Tyga has teamed up with ‘creative director Ryder Ripps of OKFOCUS’ to help make his goal a reality he has made a name for himself through his previous collaborative works with Kanye West and Travis Scott for their own individual business operations.
