The Atlanta Hawks have been dominating the west coast throughout this whole 2021 postseason. First easily eliminating the New York Knicks in a brutal 4-1 series spanking, the Hawks would then go on to defeat the Philadelphia 76ers in a much tougher 4-3 win. Now clearly facing their biggest challenge so far, Trae Young looks to lead his team through all obstacles standing in his path, including Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks.
This time being unable to secure his team with a firm 2-0 series lead, Trae Young looked a little off Thursday night. He would only put up 15 points, 3 assists, and 2 rebounds throughout a total of 28 minutes on the court. Young also seemed to be having a difficult time finding his rhythm as he only went 6 of 16 from the field and 2 of 3 from his home behind the 3-point line.
Obtaining what some people are calling an ‘upset’ victory over the Bucks in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals, Milwaukee definitely struck back with a one-sided victory in Game 2. Taking place at home in Milwaukee the final score was tallied at 125-91 which basically sums up how the entire game transpired. Giannas had a total of 31 points, 6 assists, and 13 rebounds within just 31 on the floor. He showed incredible hustle along with his much-needed focus on defense which propelled his team to their first win of this series. Giannas made it clear to the league, as well as Trae Young has, that they will not rest until they make it to their set goal of winning the Conference Finals; making this series very interesting to watch as only one can emerge victoriously.
Game 3 of this competitive series will be held in Atlanta on June 27th in hopes of a serious, intense battle for their chance at gold. The entirety of Game 2 was an absolute blowout by the Bucks and if they continue to play at level and speed I am not sure if there is a current team in the postseason that could stop them.
