Transportation company Uber Eats has recently announced that they will officially begin delivering marijuana in Toronto, Canada. Users will now be able to order cannabis products directly to their home from the app starting October 17th. The news comes shortly after Uber Eats Canada announced a partnership with the cannabis marketplace Leafly. All cannabis deliveries will be handled by local retailers staff rather than Uber. Also Customers must be 19-years-old and must be sober upon delivery.
“We are partnering with industry leaders like Leafly to help retailers offer safe, convenient options for people in Toronto to purchase legal cannabis for delivery to their homes, which will help combat the illegal market and help reduce impaired driving,” Lola Kassim, General Manager of Uber Eats Canada said in a statement.
