The 44-year-old quarterback Tom Brady has recently announced his return to the NFL. Officially made public this past Monday, March 14, 2022, the 7-time SuperBowl champion declared that he will be returning to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for what is most likely to be his final season as a professional football player. Brady was eliminated from the 2021-2022 postseason by the Los Angeles Rams during the divisional round of the NFC playoffs.
The future Hall of Famer made his declaration back into the league through a short post that was uploaded to his social media account: “These past two months I have realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands,” Brady simply captioned his post. “That time will come. But it is not now. I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. They make it all possible. I am coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa. Unfinished business LFG.” With this being said, Buccaneers fans around the world are now guaranteed the opportunity to witness Tom Brady continue his legendary career in Tampa Bay.
Brady was initially brought into the league as the 199th overall pick in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft. Throughout his time as a professional athlete, #12 has managed to solidify a monumental career by achieving various highly sought after accomplishments such as winning 7 out of his 10 SuperBowl appearances, earning 3 MVPs, and 14 conference championships on top of breaking a plethora of quarterback records. As Brady looks to extend his exciting athletic career, it will soon be safe to say that he will indefinitely be declared as ‘the greatest quarterback of all time’ if he comes back from retirement and wins an eighth SuperBowl championship.
