Wendy Williams’ The Wendy Williams Show has officially announced the conclusion of her program after a long 13 seasons. Commencing back in 2008, Williams made sure to use her platform to enlighten the audience of her honest opinion about any specific subject at hand, while also including various celebrity interviews to gain all different types of viewers. The author and radio host reportedly came to the decision to end her show due to multiple concerns towards her overall health and not wanting to take any unnecessary risks.
“The decision to end the show was made in light of Williams’ health concerns, including issues with COVID-19 and Graves; disease, which prevented her from hosting the show since October,” a trusted spokesperson for the 57-year-old host stated. Company co-president Ira Bernstein also had her own claims for the recent events concerning Wendy’s show: “Since Wendy is still not available to host the show as she continues on her road to recovery, we believe it is best for our fans, stations, and advertising partners to start making this transition now.” She went on to add, “We hope to be able to work with Wendy again in the future, and continue to wish her a speedy and full recovery.”
The Wendy Williams Show has been nominated for multiple prestigious awards such as MORE and the People Choice Award for Favorite Daytime Talk Show. Williams’ program seemed to have been going smoothly until her health unfortunately interfered, causing a scary situation in which she fainted on stage back in 2017 when they were filming her show. “She has her flaws, and she’s not afraid to say it,” a respected spokesperson said in relation to Wendy’s health. “She has Grave’s disease. She has lymphedema. She went through a terrible divorce. She’s said everything. What else does she have to prove to anybody?”
