The recall applies to specific sizes (14.5 oz. and 1 oz.) of Doritos Nacho Cheese Flavored Tortilla Chips. The reason behind the recall is the potential presence of undeclared soy and wheat ingredients, sourced from spicy sweet chili tortilla chips. The recall is voluntary and aims to ensure consumer safety.

No instances of allergic reactions related to the affected products have been reported so far. However, individuals who have allergies or sensitivities to soy or wheat are advised not to consume these products, as their health could be at risk. Frito-Lay encourages those affected to avoid consuming the recalled products and to dispose of them immediately.

After the release of its cheese-only sandwich earlier this month, the fast-food chain is now introducing a customizable burger that allows customers to add as many beef patties as they desire. This new option empowers customers to build their perfect burger, catering to their individual preferences for meaty goodness. Burger King’s latest offering promises to be a treat for burger enthusiasts who crave a hearty and satisfying meal.

The burger comes with three patties and no additional ingredients, priced at 339 baht, approximately $9.88 USD. However, what makes this offering unique is that customers can add extra beef patties to the burger for an additional 100 baht each. The customization option allows customers to create a burger with as many patties as they desire, as long as they refrain from adding onion, tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, or sauce. This novel concept lets customers indulge in a pure meaty experience without any other toppings getting in the way.

Chipotle Launches Robot That Helps Make Guacamole https://brevmag.com/chipotle-launches-robot-that-helps-make-guacamole/ https://brevmag.com/chipotle-launches-robot-that-helps-make-guacamole/#respond Fri, 14 Jul 2023 00:34:37 +0000 https://brevmag.com/?p=26106 Chipotle’s introduction of the Autocado, a robot designed to process avocados, aims to streamline the preparation of avocados for guacamole production. The machine, developed in collaboration with Vebu, automates the cutting, coring, and peeling of avocados, making it more convenient for Chipotle employees to create their guacamole by hand. This innovation is part of Chipotle’s efforts to incorporate technology into its operations and improve efficiency in its food preparation processes.

We are committed to exploring collaborative robotics to drive efficiencies and ease pain points for our employees,” Curt Garner, Chief Customer and Technology Officer at Chipotle said in a statement. “The intensive labor of cutting, coring, and scooping avocados could be relieved with Autocado, but we still maintain the essential culinary experience of hand mashing and hand preparing the guacamole to our exacting standards.”

Pepsi Discontinues Sierra Mist Production For New ‘Starry’ Citrus Soda https://brevmag.com/pepsi-discontinues-sierra-mist-production-for-new-starry-citrus-soda/ https://brevmag.com/pepsi-discontinues-sierra-mist-production-for-new-starry-citrus-soda/#respond Sun, 15 Jan 2023 23:58:04 +0000 https://brevmag.com/?p=23283 Widely-popular soda company, PepsiCo, is the home to many sought-after carbonated beverages such as Mountain Dew, Pepsi, and Brisk. Most recently, as of this past Wednesday, January 11, 2023, the corporation published the debut of its newest addition to the PepsiCo selection list, Starry – a carbonated, caffeine-free lemon-lime flavored soda.

“The demand for lemon-lime flavored soda has never been greater, with category growth accelerating since 2019, there is a significant opportunity now to give people a choice in an area that has been dominated by one brand for years,” a spokesperson from the business publicly stated during an exclusive press release.

However, PepsiCo is unable to distribute two of the same flavored drinks, resulting in the upsetting executive decision to officially discontinue one of its most likable carbonated beverages, the lemon-lime flavored Sierra Mist. After 23 years of production and distribution, the representatives of the business claimed that they are “optimistic” about the future of Starry, as well as their awareness of their domination of the lemon-lime flavor group.

“With one product dominating the category, consumers deserve another option; one that hits different… Starry is bright, optimistic, and rooted in culture and fun,” chief marketing officer at PepsiCo Beverages North America Greg Lyons stated. “At PepsiCo, we are hyper-focused on consumer-centric innovation, and we know there is a strong demand for lemon-lime flavored soda with the category continuing to accelerate.”

Krispy Kreme Ordered To Pay $1.2 Million To Workers Who Weren’t Paid Overtime https://brevmag.com/krispy-kreme-ordered-to-pay-1-2-million-to-workers-who-werent-paid-overtime/ https://brevmag.com/krispy-kreme-ordered-to-pay-1-2-million-to-workers-who-werent-paid-overtime/#respond Sat, 19 Nov 2022 19:09:13 +0000 https://brevmag.com/?p=22039 Popular doughnut company Krispy Kreme was recently ordered to pay millions in back wages and damages to it’s employees in the U.S. Reports state that the company failed to pay 516 employees for their overtime work. Following wage theft claims, The Department of Labor launched an investigation across all 242 of the companies locations and found widespread systemic breaches in labor laws. The company will pay most $1.2 million in total to the workers, with one receiving more than $13,000 and another around $12,500.

“Overtime and minimum wage violations are common violations found in food service industry investigations,” Jessica Looman, from the Department of Labor, said in a statement. “Employers who fail in their obligation to pay minimum wage and overtime wages as the law requires make it harder for workers and their families to make ends meet.”

Costco To Stick With $1.50 Hot Dog Deal Despite Inflation  https://brevmag.com/costco-to-stick-with-1-50-hot-dog-deal-despite-inflation/ https://brevmag.com/costco-to-stick-with-1-50-hot-dog-deal-despite-inflation/#respond Mon, 10 Oct 2022 01:06:00 +0000 https://brevmag.com/?p=16778 Despite the economic disarray, Costco Wholesale’s CFO, Richard Galanti, recently announced the company’s signature $1.50 hot dog and soda combo deal will not be going anywhere anytime soon. In a recent presentation, CFO Richard Galanti told people that there are no plans to raise the price of the combo meal despite price hikes on other items on the menu. “We really don’t look at it that way,” said Galanti when asked how Costco plans to please it’s customers, per MarketWatch. “I think the thing I mentioned earlier about there [being] some businesses that are doing well with margin, like [the] gas business, [in] a smaller way—in the travel business, those things help us be more aggressive in other areas, or, as you mentioned, hold the price on the hot dog and the soda a little longer—forever.”

The strict price of the hot dog and soda combo has been in effect since the 1980s, and there are no plans to ever change it. In 2018 it was even reported that the company’s co-founder Jim Sinegal once threatened to kill CEO if he ever raised the price of the combo. As a result of this altercation, Costco decided to build its own hot dog-manufacturing facility in Los Angeles to keep costs down.

“You heard it here first, the choco taco has been discontinued,” an executive of the organization stated. “Over the past two years, we have experienced an unprecedented spike in demand across our portfolio and have had to make very tough decisions to ensure availability of our full portfolio nationwide… we know this may be very disappointing.” Klondike also went on to inform their customers that they may be able to find the beloved ice cream taco as vendors continue to clear out all of their current products.

This marks a significant change for workers, becoming the first of the coffee giant’s chains in Louisiana to officially unionize. The decision was made final after an 11-1 vote this weekend, as 11 of the store’s 16 baristas signed the petition filed with the National Labor Relations Board, according to Eater

“I feel amazing,” barista Caitlyn Pierce told 6Park News. “This is something we worked really hard for and it’s great to finally get here.” Billie Nyx, who organized the union campaign without top management’s permission, told the outlet that she feels “really amazing,” following the final tally.“I feel really amazing right now,” Nyx said. “Regardless, it just solidifies that every time I go back to my job … I’ll go back to a unionized store and I’ll be able to enjoy the fruits of my labor.” The now-unionized employees will be to negotiate their employment contracts and create the best working agreement for both parties.
