He provided minimal information, simply mentioning that the somewhat ominous artwork was created by his 5-year-old son, Adonis.

While we still await an official release date, OVO Sound’s official channels also shared the artwork, strongly indicating that this is indeed the final album cover and that the “For All the Dogs” project is gaining momentum.

This new cover art follows several trends from Drake’s history of unpredictable album artwork: it features a hand-drawn style reminiscent of “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late,” centers around a youthful version of Drake (similar to “Nothing Was the Same”), and incorporates a family member, in this case, his 5-year-old son Adonis (reminiscent of “More Life,” which featured a vintage photo of Dennis Graham).

Billionaire Yusaku Maezawa To Auction Basquiat Painting For $70 Million https://brevmag.com/billionaire-yusaku-maezawa-to-auction-basquiat-painting-for-70-million/ https://brevmag.com/billionaire-yusaku-maezawa-to-auction-basquiat-painting-for-70-million/#respond Mon, 28 Feb 2022 07:25:32 +0000 https://brevmag.com/?p=12139 Renowned tech billionaire and art collector, Yusaku Maezawa is auctioning off his one-of-one wall-size Basquiat Painting for $70 Million. The tech mogul came across the painting 6-years ago and although his name wasn’t as known in the art scene as much it was in tech he would buy it for a record-breaking $57.3 million. Known for founding Japan’s largest online fashion mall, the now 46-year old billionaire who recently rocketed to the international space station is sending his prized possession to auction and should see a large return for holding and taking care of the artwork.

Jean-Micheal Basquiat was an American artist who rose to success during the 1980s as a part of the Neo-expressionism movement. The late great artist passed away from Heroin overdose but his works continue to catch the attention of the masses and known socialites like Jay-Z, Beyoncé, and Madonna.

Newest Kobe Bryant Mural In Los Angeles https://brevmag.com/newest-kobe-bryant-mural-in-los-angeles/ https://brevmag.com/newest-kobe-bryant-mural-in-los-angeles/#respond Tue, 09 Nov 2021 17:26:13 +0000 https://brevmag.com/?p=10656

It has been almost two full years since the unfortunate passing of NBA legend Kobe Bryant. The former Los Angeles Lakers star was a respected husband, athlete, and father of four girls before being the unfortunate victim of a low percentage helicopter accident; the crash also took the life of his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna Bryant. The operator of the helicopter struck a hillside in the Calabasas area as Kobe and his daughter were on their way to Camarillo, California for Gianna’s AAU basketball tournament. Since this devastating accident, friends, family, and fans everywhere have made their voices heard in never forgetting the lives and impact that both Kobe and Gianna had on the world.

Various murals have been professionally painted on multiple streets, buildings, and even basketball courts throughout the entire world. More specifically, Los Angeles, California is the most populated with Kobe and Gianna remembrance murals, being that is the city where they previously lived and represented for more than two decades. The newest painting to hit the pavement is also in the Los Angeles area, where a plethora of beautifully spray-painted pictures of Kobe is displayed throughout different periods of his basketball career. Bryant’s known phrase, “Be Legendary” is clearly presented over top of the aesthetically pleasing design. In multiple colors, the painting focuses on Bryant in his Lower Merion High School jersey, while accompanying other sketches of the athlete in both his No. 8 and No. 24 Lakers jerseys.

Throughout his 20-year long professional basketball career as a Los Angeles Laker, Kobe Bryant achieved a surplus of accomplishments such as five NBA championships, a 15-time member of the All-NBA Team, an 18-time All-Star, a 12-time member of the All-Defensive Team, a two-time NBA Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP), and was the 2008 regular season NBA MVP. While there is nothing we can do about the tragic passing of Gianna at 13 and Kobe at 41-years-old, we can still continue to remember their story and build their true legacy that will last for generations to come.

Las Vegas Auction Sold Picasso Paintings For Over $100 Million https://brevmag.com/las-vegas-auction-sold-picasso-paintings-for-over-100-million/ https://brevmag.com/las-vegas-auction-sold-picasso-paintings-for-over-100-million/#respond Tue, 02 Nov 2021 12:44:21 +0000 https://brevmag.com/?p=10580

Just two days before his 140th birthday, some beloved paintings creating the very own Pablo Picasso were sold at a local Las Vegas auction for what was reported to be a sum of over $100 million. The sale took place in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Bellagio hotel, compelling a turn out so big that it officially made this specific event the ‘largest fine auction to take place in Nevada,’ according to a reliable source. Eleven separate paintings were sold to various auctioneers who attended the once-in-a-lifetime event. The head representatives of this event were assembled of respectable members of the Sotheby Institute of Art.

Sotheby’s Chairman and Worldwide head of sales for Global Fine Art previously released the following statement, prior to the commencement of the auction; “It is a privilege to present this exemplary selection of works by Picasso from the MGM art collection in a special auction to support MGM Resorts in evolving their collection to represent a broader and more diverse group of artists. As one of the most famous, beloved, and accomplished artists of all time, we could not imagine anyone better than Picasso to inaugurate this unique art and culture experience.” All of his work had either doubled or tripled in price in order to ensure the buyer understands the true value of what they are purchasing; this also has to do with the fact that artists’ work usually rises in price after they pass away.

Five out of the 11 paintings that were displayed were hung from the wall to show their peak aesthetic capability, while the others were spread out throughout the rooms so you can really indulge in the beauty of Picasso’s work. None of the buyer’s names were made public as of yet, but it was made known that all of the funds that were acquired from this event will be directly put into the act of purchasing more artwork ‘created by people of color, women, and all emerging nations such as LGBTQ artists and artists with unsolvable disabilities,’ according to representatives at Sotheby.

Kanye West Builds Replica Of Childhood Home For Album Release https://brevmag.com/kanye-west-builds-replica-of-childhood-home-for-album-release/ https://brevmag.com/kanye-west-builds-replica-of-childhood-home-for-album-release/#respond Tue, 24 Aug 2021 23:29:08 +0000 https://brevmag.com/?p=9892

Kanye West has generated quite the noise behind the upcoming release of his highly anticipated album, “DONDA.” For longer than the entirety of the summer of 2021, Kanye has been going back and forth on his social media accounts hinting at possible release dates for his latest project and seems to be putting it off in order to make the drop memorable. On August 28, 2021, Yeezy held the second album listening event in which the rapper made the executive decision to build an exact replica of the childhood home that he grew up in. This event took place in the heart of Chicago, Illinois inside of the Soldier Field where a crowd of over 40,000 people showed up for the exclusive sound “DONDA” has to offer.

This specific project took weeks to fully fulfill as Kanye assembled his own group of carpenters to recreate an identical replica of the artist’s childhood home. The South Shore house was bought out by the 44-year-old rapper back in the 1980s, which he would later sell for an unknown sum of profit in 2004. However, about halfway through last year (2020) Yeezy reportedly re-purchased the house for a total of $225,000; there have been no reports of a direct correlation between this purchase and the Donda listening event.

The Atlanta rapper began the affair with the word “Donda” repeatedly being spoken into the mic over a soothing beat. Kanye later informed his audience that the beat in which “Donda” was being spoken was actually going along at the speed of his mother’s last recorded heartbeats. His beloved mother passed away in November 2007 from a “coronary artery disease on top of multiple post-operative factors due to or as a consequence of liposuction and mammoplasty. After the event had concluded, Yeezy dropped the highly anticipated album on all platforms as he promised.

Health Benefits Of Art Are For Everyone https://brevmag.com/health-benefits-of-art-are-for-everyone/ https://brevmag.com/health-benefits-of-art-are-for-everyone/#respond Tue, 24 Aug 2021 10:02:59 +0000 https://brevmag.com/?p=9318

Many who don’t consider themselves to be gifted artistically feel that there is no point in creating art since they won’t be satisfied with the results. Another myth is that you have to work with an art therapist to get any therapeutic benefit from creating art.

But we are all born with an innate desire to express ourselves and art encompasses a wider range of activities than you might imagine. Here are some of the best ways in which creative expression can benefit mental health — making you a happier, healthier person.

How Creating Art Relieves Stress

Activities like painting, sculpting, drawing, and photography are relaxing and rewarding hobbies that can lower your stress level and leave you feeling mentally clear and calm.

This meditative-like state focuses your mind and temporarily pushes aside all your worries.

Hundreds of years ago, Leonardo da Vinci noticed that:

“Painting embraces all the ten functions of the eye; that is to say, darkness, light, body and color, shape and location, distance and closeness, motion and rest.”

Creating art trains you to concentrate on details and pay more attention to your environment.

In this way, it acts like meditation.
