The Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Clippers went to absolute war in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals. Going into this game, Los Angeles had just come off their victory in Game 5 cutting their deficit to just 3-2 in the series, not being able to afford another loss. Unfortunately for Clippers fans, they were the victims of a long-awaited uprising led by Chris Paul and the Suns on Wednesday night.
On June 30, 2021, the Suns defeated the Clippers to advance themselves into the NBA Conference Finals for the first time since 1993, a 28 year drought for the city of Phoenix. Led by the man who had one of his best games of this year’s postseason, Chris Paul had an impressive night by producing 41 points, 8 assists, and 4 rebounds for his team. Not to mention shooting 16-24 from the floor while being put in for just 35 minutes of playtime. Also showing out for his team, Devin Booker helped out his teammate and mentor by applying his 22 points, 4 assists, and 7 rebounds to his team’s chart. Both athletes would give small heartfelt speeches after the game had concluded as this was a historical night for the entire Phoenix basketball community.
Chris Paul shed light on how far he has come and how all of the support he’s received from his friends, family, and fans has helped him along his far journey to the position he is in now. Paul also gives loads of credit to the Phoenix star himself Devin Booker and states how “The main reason we’re here is the light skin guy over there Devin Booker…HE IS A DOG!” This will be the first appearance in the NBA Conference Finals by Chris Paul throughout the entirety of his career. He has played in the league for 16 long seasons, jumping from teams such as the Hornets, Rockets, Thunder, and even the Clippers. Until now with Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns, he has yet to find the correct team that can help him on his long quest to gold.
