There is no hiding from the current problems that are rising over Afghanistan as hundreds of the United States military men have been left behind during the government’s unexpected evacuation. Almost immediately after President Joe Biden made the executive decision to pull U.S. service members, select individuals from the Taliban began their plan of action to officially take over all of Afghanistan, starting with the most populated airport they have. On August 26, 2021, what can only be determined as a suicide bomber went off in the middle of the Khwaja Rawash Airport, a.k.a Kabul Airport, that took the lives of reportedly 13 U.S. military soldiers and 60 Afghan locals.
Afghanistan’s Ministry of Public Health confirmed the 60 deaths along with another 140 residents who suffered extreme injuries. For years local Afghanistan residents have created crowds of people outside the gates of the Kabul Airport in order to attempt to make their way in and escape their failing homeland. This seemed to be a perfect opportunity for the Taliban to initiate their strike and inevitably take over the entire land. With this gruesome move they have officially managed to not only achieve their goal in taking over Afghanistan, but they have also acquired hundreds of thousands of the United States military weapons and supplies that units had left behind during the evacuation.
Captain Bill Urban of US Central Command stated, “Eighteen US service members were injured in addition to the 13 dead.” In response to all of this unnecessary noise created overseas President Joe Biden chimed in to release his thoughts and actions that will be taken on the matter at hand: “We will not forgive. We will not forget. We will hunt you down and make you pay,” he said in a public statement. He later went on to express how “outraged and heartbroken” he is towards the subject and continues to refer to the troops who lost their lives as “heroes.” There has been no official confirmation as to what the next move is for the United States
