One star of the widely-streamed Netflix series Squid Game, O Yeong-su, has just been legally accused of sexual misconduct acts. The initial claim for this specific accusation was originally brought to light back in early December 2021, before being thoroughly reviewed by South Korean police officials, leading to the case being dropped in late April of this year.
However, having recently had the case open via the victim’s request, the 78-year-old man is still claiming to have never had any physical contact without the woman’s knowledge or approval. “I just held her hand to guide the way around the lake,” Yeong-su stated to the popular South Korean television network JTBC. “I apologized because she said she would not make a fuss about it but does not mean that I admit to the charges.”
The Netflix original series was initially released to the platform on September 17, 2021, and since then has managed to successfully propel itself to becoming the “first foreign-language show to win top honors at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards earlier this year”, according to solid records. Season two of the Squid Game series is currently in the making as an unofficial release date is still yet to be determined.
