After his abrupt suspension from the NBA and his concluded professional relationship with Nike, rumors are now surfacing that Brooklyn Nets star, Kyrie Irving, might not even make it back into the league. Stemming from his previous re-post about an anti-Semitic documentary called Hebrews to Negroes: Wake Up Black America, the young athlete is continuing to receive a plethora of negative feedback from people all across the globe.
Most recently, an anonymous general manager released the following statement on Irving’s future in the NBA — “I think Kyrie might not play in the NBA again… I think he is a really challenging guy. Leaving aside whether he is a good human, a bad human, whether he is using his platform correctly or anything else, and even if I have zero morals and I am just making a basketball evaluation, you need him to play. It doesn’t matter why someone cannot play, but how do you feel good that he is going to be available.”
American sports reporter Shams Charania uploaded a total of six public requirements that the Brooklyn star must complete before participating in another high-level basketball game: Apologize and condemn the film he promoted, make a $500,000 donation to anti-hate causes, complete sensitivity training, meet with the ADL and Jewish leaders, complete anti-Semitism training, and meet with the franchise owner (Joe Tsai) to demonstrate an understanding of the situation. If incompleted, there is no telling what the future holds for Irving’s iconic career.
