“Kiss Me Thru The Phone” rapper, Soulja Boy took his Instagram story on July 13, 2021, in order to share his recent act of kindness with the world. The Atlanta artist came across two young boys who were just trying to make a day’s pay by selling their boxes of candy outside of a random store outlet. Soulja left them with a ‘bankroll’ out of his own pocket and insisted on leaving all the candy with the boys so they would be able to make even more money off of it. A much similar situation took place just a couple of days prior to this interaction involving Charlotte rapper, DaBaby, which had the exact opposite outcome.
DaBaby was also approached by two young gentlemen who were just trying to sell their supply of candy for the day until the rapper took an unexpected turn and tried to teach the children a valuable lesson in sales. After the artist was done asking his question and feeling out the two kids he came to the conclusion that he was just simply going to buy one candy bar from each of them. Originally, DaBaby planned on purchasing both of their boxes, only up until one of the boys charged him $200 for one box, and the math did not add up; he sent them on their way.
However, Soulja Boy most definitely saw that video which probably enticed him to create one of his own. Except, of course, he had to do better. It is unclear the exact amount of money that the Chicago rapper gave to these two boys, but the video shows multiple hundred dollar bills being counted and handed to each of the young hustlers. Most of the feedback he has been receiving is positive, but there are still a group of people out there who believe DaBaby did the right thing by trying to teach the kids a lesson, instead of just giving them money and allowing the youth to think that things will just be handed to them.
