After the recent sanctions that United States President Joe Biden implemented towards Russia, the popular content subscription service, OnlyFans, announced that it will be lifting the restriction that was previously installed on Russian creators. As a result of the sanctions, the people of Russia are slowly entering poverty as the U.S. has shut down their banking systems, making representatives of OnlyFans feel the need to help out in some form. “We are disheartened by the recent tragic events in Ukraine,” the corporation wrote in a public statement. “As a global business, OnlyFans stands by our creators and understands that they are not responsible for these heinous acts.”
The caption continued: “After experiencing financial restrictions we have been able to restore account activity for creators in all countries. Their accounts will have full functionalities as long as we continue to have payment methods to support them. We are not terminating or suspending any creator accounts based on the creator’s location, and we are doing everything we can to support our community.” The initial reasons as to why the London-based service restricted the accounts in the first place are still undetermined.
OnlyFans went on to release another statement that claimed how “any available balances will remain secure and pending until such time that they may be withdrawn again… While creators are not responsible for the recent attacks on Ukraine, due to worldwide financial restrictions we have very limited methods to pay Creator accounts linked to Russia and Belarus.”
