The Los Angeles Lakers have already proven to be one of the most dominant forces in the league with their 2020 NBA championship victory acquired by none other than the super-duo between Anthony Davis and Lebron James. Thinking that they would stick with just themselves and build a younger team around them, they went in the completely opposite direction by acquiring the explosive Russell Westbrook from the Oklahoma City Thunder. However, this did come with a price by trading their backup center (Monterzl Harrell), their No. 1 two-way guard (Kentavious Caldwell-Pope), and their sixth man with unspoken potential (Kyle Kuzma).

Over the 2021 offseason, Los Angeles has formed one of the most powerful super teams that the league has seen since the Golden State Warriors were in their prime back in 2015-’17. With a big-3 consisting of Lebron James, Russell Westbrook, and Anthony Davis there does not seem to be a contesting team in the running to stop this incredible force; not to mention the Lakers have not yet finalized their roster and can still make more advancements at any given time. There have been multiple rumors around the NBA that Los Angeles is in the process of seeking Carmelo Anthony for a short period of time in order to secure a golden chance at the 2022 NBA Finals, but only time will tell.

Currently on the lineup for the Lakers is Russell Westbrook at point guard, Wayne Ellington at shooting guard, Lebron James at small forward, Anthony Davis at power forward, and Marc Gasol holding down the center position; an undoubtedly difficult offense to contain and defense to get past. This organization not only has a dominant starting five but also has a powerful bench consisting of Trevor Ariza, Dwight Howard, Kent Bazemore, Kendrick Nunn, Talen Horton-Tucker, and potentially Carmelo Anthony. As Lebron and the Lakers continue to put together their ‘dream team’ we can only imagine who they might pick up next on their quest of living up to the franchise’s history.
