One-third of the popular rap trio Migos, Kirshnik Khari Ball, more commonly known as Takeoff, was the unfortunate victim of an abrupt shooting that took place in the Houston, Texas area. Occurring at a local bowling alley called 810 Billiards & Bowling Houston this past Tuesday, November 1, 2022, official reports claim that Takeoff and his uncle, Quavo, were calmly betting on a routine dice game before an unidentified person opened fire on the young artist: Takeoff was shot in the head and died on the scene at only 28-years-old.
Sergeant Michael Arrington of the Houston Police Department claimed that two other people – a 25-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man – were rushed to the hospital as well without fatal injuries. “A lot of people that were there fled the scene and did not stick around to give a statement,” Arrington said, making their search for the attacker an even more difficult task than it already was. The devastating news of the Georgia-born rapper follows the similar unexpected murder of Philidelphia rapper PnB Rock in September of this year.
Takeoff was presently basking in the hype from his previously released collaborative album, Only Built For Infinity Links, including various featured verses from Gucci Mane, Birdman, Summer Walker, Gunna, Young Thug, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, and, of course, Quavo. The widely streamed artist has created a surplus of hit tracks over the past few years, transparently solidifying his iconic stance in the music industry for eternity: All of Takeoff’s music can currently be found and listened to on all streaming platforms such as Apple Music, Spotify, and SoundCloud.
