Mainly known for his hit song “Beat Box 3” (feat. DaBaby), Nehemiah Lamar Harden, or more popularly known as SpotemGottem, was one of the victims of a brutal drive-by shooting attack in Miami, Florida. The unfortunate incident took place on Friday, September 17, 2021, as an average day for the Jacksonville native would quickly turn into an emergency trip to the hospital. The 19-year-old artist was reportedly driving his Dodge Charger on a local highway when he was quickly approached by an unidentified vehicle and shot several times.
Lieutenant Alejandro Camacho of the Florida Highway Patrol told the local newspapers, “He said a car pulled up to him and all he heard was gunshots. He pulled over and called the police after being injured.” The young rapper suffered 5 bullet wounds to his hip and was tragically not the only person in the vehicle at the time. An unnamed male was also riding in the backseat who was unnecessarily shot in both of his legs; the car had a total of 22 bullet holes in its body after inspection. Both men luckily made it to the hospital in time for medical officials to undergo emergency surgery. One of the rapper’s lawyers, Raven Liberty, spoke on his behalf and let the public know that he was currently “recovering in a stable condition.”
“He is alive, most importantly. This was not a shootout. He was a victim of a drive-by shooting,” she publicly stated. SpotemGottem was reportedly coming from a studio in the Miami area and is officially expected to make a full recovery over the course of the next few months. The young artist is recently coming off his latest single “Beat Box 4” (feat. NLE Choppa) that came out this past April, and by the looks of his current situation will understandably not be focused on his music
