25-year-old rapper Pressa did not have much of stature for his music in the United States before earlier this year. The Toronto-born artist recently started his music career a few years ago in Canada, where the majority of his listeners reside. Eventually, Pressa made it overseas to individual parts of Europe, in which he then boosted his career by becoming what he refers to as “a legend” in the European and Canadian communities. He initially got his name widely known throughout America after he entered a serious romantic relationship with popular rapper, Coi Leray, back in April 2021; he now ventures into the journey of simply separating his name from the relationship to his music.
Pressa recently had an interview with The Breakfast Club in order to promote the upcoming release of the deluxe version of his album, “Garner Express.” However, as it usually does, the conversation took a turn where they began to discuss Coi Leray’s impact on Pressa’s fame throughout the United States. When asked if it bothers him that people only started to hear his name after his relationship with Coi Leray was made public, he simply responded with the following statement: “Y’all know for that. America probably knows me for that, you feel me? America, that is what y’all probably know me as right now, but where I’m from I’m a legend. Canada, even Europe, I’m like a super legend.”
Since their relationship has been made public, Coi Leray and Pressa have already released multiple collaborative singles together, such as their most popular track “Attachments” (feat. Coi Leray) Remix. Pressa has previously been recognized by major iconic artists in the past, before he was involved with Coi Leray, being Drake back in 2017 during his “Boy Meets World” Tour. His newest album, “Garner Express” (Deluxe), was officially released on November 3, 2021, and can be currently listened to on all streaming platforms; it includes both the original and remixed version of Pressa’s hit song “Attachments.”
