Almost two whole years have passed since the tragic death of Brooklyn rapper Pop Smoke. On February 19, 2020, Pop Smoke’s house in the Hollywood Hills was broken into at approximately 4:30 a.m. western time, in which the reported two burglars shot the young artist multiple times in the chest; he died hours later after being rushed to the hospital. The motive for the robbery was determined that the criminals were simply after the rapper’s money and jewelry until the situation inevitably went south.
It was recently reported this past Sunday, September 12, 2021, that the deceased 20-year old’s gravesite was purposely tampered with for what are still said to be unknown reasons. The cold-hearted criminals behind this unholy act completely destroyed the artist’s tombstone and, by the looks of it, attempted to actually drag his casket out of the ground. There were no eyewitnesses during the time this unfortunate act was taking place, but the civilian who reported the crime was able to give a very detailed description of what the crime scene looked like at their time of arrival. Not much information was given to the public as a statement from the gravesite read, “An incident of vandalism took place on our grounds early Saturday. We immediately notified the authorities and are in touch with the family. Given the ongoing investigation, we cannot comment any further at this time.”
Not only were there reported drag marks on the ground from what can only be assumed to be from his casket but there has also been significant evidence that the criminals involved tried to remove the rapper’s body from his casket. His tombstone has now been replaced with a blank one surrounded by caution tape, for the time being, and the gravesite is currently an off-limit ongoing investigation scene. While this heartless offense cannot be taken back or undone we can only hope that Pop Smoke’s family can find comfort, that his soul rests in peace, and that the heartless thugs behind this gruesome crime will be found and penalized for their despicable actions
