Since the 2021 election in which President Joe Biden took the place of former President Donald Trump, the legalization of marijuana has been rapidly spreading throughout the United States. Weed consumption is now legal in 19 states, of course with specific guidelines, to anyone who is 21 years of age or older and this specific hotel has big plans on reinventing traveling for those who enjoy to ‘relax.’ Located in Northern California, Scotia Lodge is just your average hotel with a little twist in comfortability. This hotel is 100% cannabis-friendly and gives you not only the option to smoke all things cannabis, but the business provides you with their very own specific cannabis-based oils, chocolates, candies, gummies, pre-rolled joints, and even soothing skincare products.
Scotia Lodge is a small branch that was brought upon by the Humboldt County hotel industry, in Humboldt, California, which is known for retrieving an inconsumable amount of marijuana from more than 12,000 cannabis farms in the region. The founder of Scotia Lodge, Amy O’Connor released a statement that gave more of an in-depth explanation of making her customers as comfortable as possible, “Humboldt County hotels need to create spaces for visitors to smoke cannabis. Imagine if Napa Valley didn’t offer safe places to drink wine! We are committed to taking care of our guests by offering them a legal space to consume cannabis while visiting. For us, normalizing cannabis in hospitality means adding food, drink, spa, and retail to cannabis businesses and adding access to cannabis to hospitality locations, like easy third-party delivery options and outdoor smoking areas.”
This hotel is one of the many marijuana-friendly ones located throughout California, but it is clear that the Scotia Lodge is ready to surpass them all by using its marvelous location and high hospitality techniques. The place has been around for over 100 years before the project was picked up by O’Connor and undoubtedly reinvented the entire aspect, aesthetic, and aura of the whole setting. The newest version of this establishment was recently brought together and publicly open for business back in 2018 and since then has made an incredible name for itself throughout the west coast hotel scene.
