During the evening of Thursday, Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice released their highly anticipated joint track titled “Barbie World,” featured on the soundtrack for the movie Barbie. Fans were given a preview of the song in May when it played at the end of the film’s official trailer. Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice later confirmed the existence of the track through an Instagram post, captioned: “It’s BARBIE B!CH. If you still in DOUBT.” The release of “Barbie World” generated excitement among fans eagerly awaiting the next collaboration between the two New York natives.
“And I’m bad like the Barbie/I’m a doll but I still wanna party,” the two rap. “Pink ‘Vette like I’m ready to bend/I’m a 10, so I pull in a Ken/Jazzie, Stacie, Nicki/All of the Barbies is pretty/All of the Barbies is bad It girls, and we ain’t playin’ tag.”
The track “Barbie World” is now available on all major streaming platforms. Additionally, a music video for the song has been released and can be viewed below. The film featuring the song is directed by Greta Gerwig and features an ensemble of high-profile cast members including Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Will Ferrell, Kate McKinnon, Issa Rae, Simu Liu, Michael Cera, and others. The official soundtrack for the film is set to be released on July 21.
