Star of the Brazilian national soccer team Neymar de Silva Santos Junior, better known simply as Neymar Jr., has recently suffered an unfortunate ankle injury that just might remove him from the remainder of the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament. Occurring this past Thursday (Nov. 24) at the Lusail Stadium in the heart of Lusail, Qatar, Neymar endured a gruesome wound to his right ankle during their debut 2-0 win against Serbia.
As a result of his injury, the 30-year-old talent was indefinitely ruled out of his squad’s upcoming match against Switzerland this Monday (Nov. 28). Neymar was the victim of various slide tackles throughout his previous game against Serbia, before abruptly being substituted out of the match during the second half – he limped off the field in the 79th minute as Rodrygo Silva de Goes took his place at the forward position.
