The start of an action-packed 2021-2022 NBA season officially commenced this past October 19, 2021. Last year’s former reigning NBA Champions, the Milwaukee Bucks, have taken control of the east coast as they currently hold the position of the No. 2 spot in the Eastern Conference, just below the Miami Heat. In order to keep up with the fast pace movement of the league, other franchises are continuing to make behind-the-scenes transfers for specific players in order to match the competitiveness of Milwaukee.
In 2022 alone, various squads have made high-risk trades for star players in an attempt to better the overall success of their team. On Tuesday, February 8, 2022, the Portland Trail Blazers made an agreement with the New Orleans Pelicans to trade their star point guard CJ McCollum, Larry Nance Jr., and Tony Snell for Tomas Satoransky, Didi Louzada, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Josh Hart, and draft compensation: The Pelicans now hold a starting big-3 consisting of CJ McCollum, Brandon Ingram, and Zion Williamson.
The Sacramento Kings recently signed off on a deal of their own to send Tristian Thompson, Buddy Hield, and Tyrese Hailburton to the Indiana Pacers in exchange for Justin Holiday, Domantas Sabonis, and Jeremy Lamb. An anonymous NBA insider also reported that the Boston Celtics have been rumored to have had multiple conservations in relation to trading their backup point guard, Dennis Schroder. As all franchises continue to scramble and search for the best possible additions to their teams, time is quickly running out as the official deadline for NBA trade concludes this upcoming Thursday, February 10.
