Friday, August 20, 2021, Florida Georgia Line became the most recent band to cancel a performance due to issues related to COVID-19. The band made the announcement that they will no longer be performing at concerts for the rest of 2021 in order to take every precaution in not obtaining the dreadful disease. Florida Georgia Line is just one out of various artists and bands who have canceled future showings for what appears to be the same reason. Brian Kelly and Tyler Hubbard from the band made it known how “bummed” they were, through an Instagram post, that they had to, unfortunately, cancel the remainder of their fall tour.

Already rescheduled from last year due to COVID-19 related issues, BTS canceled their entire highly anticipated “Map of the Soul” world tour again this year. This past Thursday Rolling Stone announced along with Big Hit Music, BTS’ company, that current coronavirus and delta variant problems have unfortunately made it very “difficult to resume performances at the same scale and timeline as previously planned.”

Following that the Nine Inch Nails reportedly publicized, this past Wednesday, that they have also officially canceled every previously scheduled show for the rest of the year. The band authenticated the cancelation on their website when they stated that their tour was, “intended to be a cathartic and celebratory return to live music… With each passing day, it is becoming more apparent we are not at that place yet.” Much like other artists and music groups, the Nine Inch Nails would prefer to perform after all aspects of COVID-19 have been officially dealt with so their audience can feel safe when trying to enjoy their favorite music in a public setting. Knowing that this will not be the last cancellation due to issues concerning the coronavirus and delta variant, we can only hope that this will be the last wave so everyone can get back to their everyday ‘normal’ life.
