A Tennessee mother of two young children became the most recent victims of a brutal pit bull attack this past Thursday, October 6. The tragic incident occurred at a local home just north of the Memphis area with reports claiming that the two family pet dogs unexpectedly charged Kirstie Jane Bennard (30) and killed both of her kids. Close friends and family members showed their genuine surprise towards the unsettling situation by expressing how the pit bulls, Mia and Cheech, “have been a part of the family for over eight years without a violent incident.”
After arriving on the scene, officials of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the death of the two defenseless children, a 5-month-old boy and a 2-year-old girl, along with transporting the traumatized mother to the nearest hospital in critical condition; she is currently in “stable condition with an uncountable amount of stitches and bite marks over her entire body, including her face,” according to Jeff Gibson – the uncle of Kirstie’s husband, Colby Bennard.
