Since then, the creators have been working to bring the second coming of this film to life at its highest possible potential. Minions: The Rise of Gru, is a new comedic and adventurous movie that was released into all theaters throughout the United States this past Friday, July 1, 2022. The second spin-off film is based on Despicable Me and is a continuation of the first Minions movie. Starring the voice of Steve Carell, Despicable Me is a 2010 motion picture that tells the story of a hard-working supervillain who adopts three girls in order to pursue his biggest crime of them all.
After viewers took it upon themselves to see this specific film it quickly turned into the talk of the country. Minions: The Rise of Gru has successfully managed to reach a rising total of $127.9 million in its opening weekend, propelling the movie to obtain the title of being the highest-grossing film opening over Independence Day weekend. Due to the popularity surrounding the movie, it has even launched itself to become a viral TikTok trend to dress in fancy clothes while publicly watching the film in local theaters. Well-known video director Cole Bennett also made his stamp on the movie by convincing the creators to institute a Yeat song in their trailer and film – Yeat is an upcoming artist from the California area who previously collaborated with Bennett on a music video for his single, Still Countin. “Getting the minions to approve Yeat for an official trailer was not easy and will go down as one of my favorite accomplishments,” Cole wrote in a post uploaded to his Instagram account.
