The Milwaukee Bucks had an incredible team victory over the Atlanta Hawks in what was a brutal battle in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals. From tipoff, the Hawks struggled to rally a flow that enabled Milwaukee to take advantage and achieve a 14 point lead within the first 10 minutes of the game. The final score came out to 123-112 giving the Bucks a strong 3-2 series lead and heavy momentum going into what could be the final postseason game for Atlanta basketball.
Trae Young was reportedly still unable to play in Thursday night’s game, but as a good teammate does still showed his love and support on the sideline with his peers and coaches. It is still unknown when Young will be cleared to return, but what we do know is if Atlanta does not gain this must-win victory over Milwaukee in Game 6, Young and his team will have plenty of time to rest as they watch the Finals from home.
Just one game away from securing their aspired goal of the NBA Conference Finals, Khris Middleton was able to lead the Bucks out of the danger zone in an impressive Game 5. Even with Giannas Antetokounmpo being out with a hyperextension injury to his left knee, Khris Middleton is continuing to pick up the slack by coming within just fingertips of a triple-double achieving 26 points, 8 assists, and 13 rebounds. Not allowing Middleton to act alone, Brook Lopez also showed out with an incredible night for himself by producing 33 points and 7 rebounds while shooting 14-18 from the field; a career-high in points, and a night to remember for the Milwaukee center.
Game 6 of what could be the last match of the 2021 Easter Conference Finals will be held in The State Farm Arena on July 3rd and streamed live on TNT Network. As both teams have their star players out with injuries, it is going to be an interesting game to see if Atlanta can muster up the strength to push the series into Game 7. Unless the Bucks are able to use their momentum and move one step closer to winning just their second NBA Conference Finals, since their first and only back in 1971.
