Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson is a Youtube series that the former heavyweight champion started that discusses current problems in the world and everything to do with the culture of boxing. Hosted by Mike Tyson himself, the podcast consists of hour-long episodes withholding new guest features every week in order to add diverse discussions and fresh opinions to his platform. His most recent episode launched this past Friday, October 1, 2021, and featured Indiana artist Freddie Gibbs where the main topic of discussion was the difference in today’s boxing climate; both of the Paul brothers were mentioned in the back and forth discussion.
When asked if he ever sees himself back in the ring again, Tyson confidently replied by stating that he would most definitely love to get back to work and show people that he can still compete in the World Boxing Association. “I do not think there are too many people that could beat you, period. I feel like boxing kind of fell off… I am sick of seeing all of these Jake Paul fights,” Gibbs claimed. Jake Paul previously matched up against former fighter Tyron Woodley who suffered a brutal loss from the youngest Paul brother, a split decision made by the judges. This victory launched Jake Paul to extend his undefeated boxing career, leaving former opponents such as Ben Askren and Nate Robinson in the dust.
Gibbs asked the former champion if he would be interested in fighting one of the Paul brothers if the opportunity presented itself, in which Tyson responded with, “Hell yeah! They would do it, that would be a lot of money.” After the 39-year-old rapper showed skepticism towards the fighter’s answer, he then added, “For 100 million bucks, they will do anything.” All jokes aside, everyone can agree that Mike Tyson would come out victorious in this clear one-sided match-up against two ‘untrained boxers.’
