Los Angeles Lakers Fall To Denver Nuggets 0-4 Start To Season

The Denver Nuggets recently took part in a competitive matchup against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers this past Wednesday, October 26, 2022. Hosted at the Ball Arena in the heart of Denver, Colorado, the Nuggets successfully handed the Lakers an 11-point (110-99) loss at the conclusion of the fourth quarter: this marks Los Angeles’ fourth straight defeat to begin the 2022-’23 NBA season, they are 0-4.  

Denver seemed to have the upper hand throughout the entirety of the game, giving an impressive double-double performance by their star center, Nikola Jokic: the Serbian athlete scored 31 points, 9 assists, and 13 rebounds over the course of a hard-fought 35 minutes on the floor. Guards Jamal Murray and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope also contributed to their squad’s victory by producing a confident combined total of 26 points, 7 assists, and 4 rebounds. 

Looking at individual statistics for their prior 2022-’23 season games, Los Angeles simply does not seem to be on the same page. The franchise has yet to obtain a victory under its belt, printing this specific loss against Denver to be Laker’s fourth straight defeat; others include the Portland Trail Blazers (106-104), L.A.Clippers (103-97), and Golden State Warriors (123-109). 

Despite their loss, star center Anthony Davis still managed to earn himself a double-double for the night that embodied a total of 22 points, 5 assists, and 14 rebounds – LeBron James also put up a necessary 19-point, 9-assist, and 7-rebound game, before helping his team prepare for their upcoming competitors, the Minnesota Timberwolves.
