The 2021-2022 Los Angeles Lakers roster was unable to get the job done this season. Dropping out of this year’s NBA season as the No. 11 seed in the Western Conference, Lebron James and his squad will be watching the Finals from home as they ponder their plan of attack for next year. Officially eliminated this past Tuesday, April 12, the Lakers fell short in a heartbreaking 121-110 loss to the Phoenix Suns, taking place at the popular Footprint Center in the center of Phoenix, Arizona.
Despite their loss, star forward Anthony Davis put up an impressive double-double this past Tuesday night that included a hard-earned 21 points, 13 rebounds, and 1 assist over the course of a solid 36 minutes on the court. The face of the franchise, Lebron James, also went on to score the most points on the floor for his team with a well-deserved 28 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists. Other than that, most of the impact from Los Angeles came from their bench as Carmelo Anthony and Austin Reaves combined for a total of 28 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists while withholding a seven-minute play-time difference between each of them.
Looking at Phoenix’s side of the situation, Devin Booker and the Suns currently have the No. 1 spot in the Western Conference as they move forward in this year’s competitive playoff series. Every team that still remains in the postseason is preparing for the commencement of the 2022 NBA Playoffs, officially beginning next Saturday, April 16. As far as the future holds for the Phoenix Suns, they are now fresh off their latest victory against the Los Angeles Clippers, giving the Arizona franchise plenty of momentum heading into their next obstacle against the Utah Jazz this Friday, April 8.
