Youtube star turned fighter Logan Paul previously had the match of his life against the former undefeated light flyweight, flyweight, and feather champion Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather. The highly anticipated fight took place on June 6, 2021, and resulted in the more experienced fighter’s favor, propelling him to a new and improved 50-0 professional boxing record. After everything was wrapped up, Mayweather had reportedly walked away with an estimated $65 million, whereas Paul was only awarded $14 million.
However, the oldest Paul brother recently made the public announcement that he plans on taking legal action against Mayweather in regards to never receiving any payment. “It’s honestly bull****… Having people who aren’t a professional promotional company controlling where the money goes, we made that mistake,” Logan publicly stated. “But it is Floyd Mayweather, so before we fought him we were kind of willing to do whatever [and] after the fact we’re shooting ourselves in the foot because he is a f***ing s***bag.” It has been a total of nine months since the 26-year-old fighter stepped in the ring and he has still “not seen a penny.”
So far, Mayweather has yet to make a public response in relation to Paul’s accusations and does not seem to be fazed by the overall topic of payment. “My nickname is ‘Money’ for a reason… I worked extremely hard for years and years to get to a certain level. A level where we can start calling everything an event,” the retired superstar stated before his initial fight against his competitor. By the looks of their current situation and all of the time that has passed by already, it seems as if this is Floyd’s last opportunity to pay his debt towards Paul before he officially files the previously mentioned lawsuit.
