Back in July 2021, popular Philadelphia rapper Lil Uzi Vert’s ex-girlfriend, Brittany Byrd, filed a charge against her former boyfriend for allegedly attacking her and making threats involving a firearm. Specifics of the exact altercation that Byrd claims to have had with her previous romantic partner are unspecified, however, it was reported that the two were aggressively exchanging words before Uzi threw an alleged punch at the ‘victim;’ Byrd told the local law enforcement that he missed the punch and fell to the ground.

Recently, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office publicly declared that the 26-year-old agreed to a plea deal in this specific assault case. In order to avoid almost a lifetime behind bars, Uzi was charged with three separate felonies that included assault with a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm (misdemeanor), and criminal threats with domestic violence. Officials declare that the Drankin’ N Smokin’ artist must follow the orders of one year of mental health and substance abuse treatment, 52 weeks of domestic violence counseling, restitution, three years of formal probation, and a 10-year criminal protective order.
As far as his career goes, it does not seem as if this situation will affect his current process of releasing music, giving some relief to his loyal fans who believed he would be sentenced to time in prison. The multi-platinum selling talent recently unveiled his latest single, Demon High, which was officially released onto all streaming platforms in late October of last year. The solo track is a total of 3 minutes and 17 seconds and follows the drop of his previously announced feature, V12 (feat. Lil Uzi Vert), by Iann Dior. As far as the future holds, Lil Uzi has yet to make a statement on any new upcoming music releases, but as the past has shown, he will not disappoint when he does.
