Despite their rough start to the 2022-’23 NBA season, the Los Angeles Lakers have finally composed themselves enough to gain their first win of the year. Taking place this pace Sunday, October 30, 2022, at the Cyrpto.com Arena in the heart of Los Angeles, California, the Lakers successfully obtained a confident 121-110 victory over the Denver Nuggets.
Star forward Lebron James scored the most points for his franchise (26), along with a much-needed 8 assists and 6 rebounds over a hard-fought 35 minutes on the floor. Also aiding in his squad’s win Sunday night were Anthony David and Lonnie Walker who combined for a total of 41 points, 4 assists, and 20 rebounds. However, some NBA fans are arguing that the most significant reason for Los Angeles’ victory is because this is the first game that Russell Westbrook made any type of impact on the court – Westbrook put up a necessary 18-point, 8-assist, and 8-rebound game to help guide the Lakers out of their slump.
Aside from their loss, the Nuggets roster still seemed to play individually well for themselves. Nikola Jokic earned himself a well-deserved double-double for the night consisting of 23 points and 14 rebounds, along with a total of 6 assists over the course of 36 minutes of action. Talented forwards Aaron Gordon and Michael Porter Jr. also put on an impressive performance by adding a combined total of 35 points, 1 assist, and 15 rebounds to their squad’s total score.
