The 56th annual NFL Super Bowl officially commenced this past Sunday, February 13, 2022. The Los Angeles Rams hosted a competitive back and forth game against the Cincinnati Bengals at the SoFi Stadium in the heart of Los Angeles, California, destroying the hopes of the Bengals and all of their fans. The Rams concluded the regulation period with a 23-20 victory over Cincinnati, giving them their second Super Bowl win in the history of their franchise. Los Angeles ended the final game of the 2022 postseason with a 16-5 record and a Lombardi Trophy, whereas the Bengals left the stadium with a 13-8 season record and a passion to increase their team abilities.
The Rams took the lead early in the first quarter by an impressive touchdown that was caught by their star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Shortly after, Beckham suffered an apparent knee injury late in the second quarter that prevented him from participating in the rest of the match. Star quarterback Matthew Stafford picked up the pieces by playing one of the best games of his season by throwing a total of 283 yards along with 3 touchdown passes. However, none of this could have been accomplished if it was not for Cooper Kupp, who scored two necessary touchdowns for his squad in propelling them to become the Super Bowl LVI Champions.
Despite their loss, Cincinnati still played a great game for themselves and put up an incredible performance. Joe Burrow transparently lived up to all of the hype around his name after throwing a much-needed 263 yards for his team, accompanied by a single touchdown. The Bengals had a clear chance to send the game into overtime at the end of the fourth quarter but unfortunately fell short on their final attempt to gain their last first down of the 2021-2022 season. There is no doubt that this is not the last time we will see Cincinnati or Joe Burrow in the Super Bowl.
