Coming back from a 2-0 series shortfall the Los Angeles Clippers were able to defeat the Utah Jazz in an incredible Game 6 of the NBA playoffs. With this victory and officially eliminating the Jazz from their season, the Clippers have advanced themselves into the Western Conference Finals for the first time in history. They will be facing Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns.
This was not an easy victory for the Clippers in fact they were actually down 25 points at halftime. Utah’s star player Donovan Mitchell had an impressive game but did most of his damage within the first half. With his final stats totaling 39 points, 9 assists, and 9 rebounds while shooting 12 for 27 from the field, it was exciting to see the opposing team’s Terance Mann having his limelight in the second half. Mann would provide his team with 39 points, 1 assist, 2 rebounds, and shot 15 for 21 from the court; not to mention becoming only the third player in Clippers history to score at least seven 3s in a single playoff game.
Once the Clippers managed to tie the game with just eight minutes left they would soon secure their victory after nine consecutive points were put on the board, five of them being put up by Mann. Helping out his younger teammate Paul George had quite the game as well with a sum of 28 points, 7 assists, and 9 rebounds during which time shooting 10 for 24 from the field. Based on the outcome of how George left the playoffs last year I think it’s safe to say he didn’t have ‘going home’ as an option. All athletes and coaching staff on the Clippers made it a mission to run through anything that stood in their path, and unfortunately for Mitchell and the Jazz, they so happened to be the obstacle.
