Earlier this week, NBA 2k marketing icon Ronnie 2k was unexpectedly trolled on social media by one-half of the Splash Brothers, Klay Thompson. The 32-year-old all-star reportedly came across a false 2k rating which he responded to by calling Ronnie a “clown” and bashing ESPN: “Y’all really interviewed this clown,” Thompson wrote in a comment. “I thought NBA on ESPN meant coverage of some of the best athletes in the world, not interviewing a promoter … Do better ESPN.”
Shortly after his comment gained traction with various NBA and NBA 2k fans the well-known athlete took the initiative to publicly apologize to his peer, along with a short explanation of his choice of words. “I would like to apologize to Ronnie 2K,” Klay posted to his Instagram story. “I was in my feelings about a fictitious rating and I took my anger out on him with trolling in the comments — Cyber-bullying is super lame and loser behavior and for that, I am sorry bro.” Klay Thompson is now entering his 8th season with the Golden State Warriors as they currently hold a strong 1-0 season record for the 2022-’23 NBA season.
