Earlier this past week, multi-billionaire Jeff Bezos publicly announced his generous donation of a whopping $123 million to help fight the war that will one-day end homelessness throughout the United States. The information was recently brought to light this past Tuesday, November 22, 2022, through a short post that was uploaded to the popular businessman’s verified Instagram account.
“This year’s Bezos Day 1 Family Fund grants go to 40 incredible groups working to end homelessness in the United States,” the Amazon founder stated on his social media. “In 5 years, we have given more than $500 million to 167 organizations — helping expand their support of families in need. Honored to support these guys.”
Some of the organizations who received a portion of Bezos’ donation include Homeless Alliance in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Ka Hale A Ke Ola Homeless Resources Center Inc. in Wailuku, Hawaii; Community Services & Employment Training in Visalia, California; The Salvation Army, Denver Metro Area in Denver, Colorado; the Chapman partnership in Miami, Florida; the YWCA Missoula Housing Programs in Missoula, Montana; Oglala Sioux Tribe in Pine Ridge, South Dakota; Housing First Inc. in Mobile, Alabama, along with plenty of others.
