Former NFL tight end Kevin Ware, who previously played for the Commanders and the 49ers, has been accused of murdering his girlfriend and then burning her corpses. Investigators alleged that the 41-year-old killed his 29-year-old girlfriend Taylor Pomaski by beating, and stabbing her. It is believed that the former player disposed of the body in a ditch and burned her remains in north Harris County. Police discovered the remains in December 2021.
Ware’s indictment came soon after tampering with evidence in Pomaski’s death in July 2021, Prior to her disappearance in April 2021, Pomaski was last seen at a party held by the couple where they were said to have gotten into an argument. Soon after Ware was identified as a person of interest in the case, at which point he was taken into custody on unrelated drug possession and firearm charges.
If convicted the former NFL player could face life in prison. He is expected to appear in court next week, and will be held on $1 million bond until then. During his brief tenure in the league, Ware played 11 games for Washington Redskin’s in 2003 and five games for San Francisco 49ers in 2004.
