Most people are familiar with Eminem’s multi-platinum 2002 single “Lose Yourself,” in which the rapper uses his popular verse, “His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy / There’s vomit on his sweater already, mom’s spaghetti.” Looking to pay homage to his mother and his signature verse, the Michigan rapper recently announced that he will be opening a spaghetti shop in his hometown of Detroit, suitably called “Mom’s Spaghetti.” Eminem and his team have been serving ‘mom’s spaghetti’ since 2017 and have successfully delivered over 400 meals to local essential workers this past April; the business is officially set to open this upcoming Wednesday, September 29.
Commercials for the new one-of-a-kind spaghetti outlet have started to launch in the local Detroit area early Friday morning, September 24, starring the artist himself. Their slogan, “Mom’s Spaghetti, It’s All Ready,” has already flooded the streets of Michigan as residents will undoubtedly show up to support their hometown hero. The spaghetti spot will serve a plethora of pasta dishes that will mainly be focused around the Italian classic, spaghetti, and meatballs. The culinary joint will also include some of the rapper’s favorite twists on spaghetti and meatballs including the self-named “s’ghetti sandwich.”
On top of all of this, Eminem will also be releasing “Mom’s Spaghetti” merchandise in order to expand its brand name and customers. Apparel will be sold from the same location, but in a separate shop called ‘The Trailer.’ Not only is the 48-year-old rapper venturing off into other aspects of life besides his music, but he is still continuing to release projects such as his latest track “Killer” (feat. Jack Harlow & Cordae) – Remix. Loyal fans have also been speculating if the new store opening is a promotional movie for any upcoming music that the artist intends to release, however, nothing is for certain yet.
