Drake has been at the top of the music industry for over a decade after recently coming off his hit studio album “Certified Lover Boy.” The project contained multiple features from Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Giveon, Jay-Z, Travis Scott, Future, Young Thug, 21 Savage, Project Pat, Tems, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, and Kid Cudi in order to ensure its inevitable success. Back in 2019, Drake collaborated with Chris Brown on his “Indigo” project for their hit track “No Guidance,” which has currently sold over 8 million units within the United States alone. However, the two artists have recently been hit with a lawsuit claiming to have copied a previously released track, “I Love Your Dress,” created by the duo Drum’n Skillz.

The group consists of Timothy Valentine and Brandon Cooper who “claim an analysis of the beat, lyrics, hook and rhythmic structure demonstrates that ‘No Guidance’ was copied or, at the very least, derived from ‘I Love Your Dress,’” reported by the group’s representatives. The specific line, “You got it,” is repeatedly heard throughout both songs, along with the phrase “flew the coop” that Cooper and Valentine’s claim was used to mock them; they released their track three years prior to the release of “No Guidance.”

Most of the feedback received from this surprising news went back and forth, but the majority of listeners expressed how they can clearly hear the similarities in the beat structure and lyrics. So far, no details have been released as to when this matter will be taken into the courtroom, however, most can assume that this situation will simply disappear, as cases of this sort usually do. Drake is recently coming off the drop of his latest No. 1 hit album, “Certified Lover Boy,” which managed to move over 500,000 units within just its first week; the project is currently available on all streaming platforms today.
