Professional boxer Devin Haney was taken into custody on Thursday in Hollywood, as per reports, due to suspected possession of a firearm. According to TMZ, Haney had been socializing with friends on Wednesday, July 12, visiting various establishments such as Catch L.A. However, he was apprehended shortly after leaving one of the venues in the early hours of the next day. Law enforcement sources stated that Haney’s vehicle was pulled over because of an unsafe lane change and failure to signal properly.
Although Devin Haney was not driving the vehicle, the driver informed law enforcement officers that there was a firearm present in the car. Following this, Haney and his security team exited the vehicle, and a subsequent search by the authorities revealed a semi-automatic handgun beneath the driver’s seat. No one took responsibility for the firearm, but as the car was registered under Haney’s name, he was arrested and charged with felony possession of a concealed weapon. He was released on the same day after posting bail of $35,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court next month to address the charges related to his arrest.
