The highly-anticipated 2022-’23 NFL Wild Card game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. the Dallas Cowboys did not go as most people suspected. Taking place on Monday, January 16, 2023, at the Raymond James Stadium in the heart of Tampa Bay, Florida, the Dallas Cowboys completely dominated their opponents throughout the entirety of their 31-14 victory.
With this specific win, Dallas now becomes just one of three other teams in the NFC East that are still in the running for next week’s postseason Divisional Round – New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, and Dallas Cowboys. Star quarterback for the franchise Dak Prescott was the most notable player on the field by throwing four impressive touchdowns, along with running one of his own into the endzone as well; Prescott threw a total of 305 yards with zero interceptions. As the postseason continues, Dallas now turns their attention to their next competitors this upcoming Sunday (Jan. 22) against the San Francisco 49ers.
As a result of their loss, Tampa Bay is now officially eliminated from the 2022-’23 postseason as their squad simply seemed to have an off night. Legendary quarterback Tom Brady has had better performances throughout his career, throwing a total of 351 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Talented receivers Julio Jones and Cameron Brate scored the remaining two touchdowns for their franchise while running a combined total of 84 yards and completing eight catches.
As questions continue to rise if this will be Brady’s last NFL game – after retiring at the end of the 2021-‘22 NFL season – the veteran athlete went on to vocalize his thoughts on his near future shortly following the game. “I’m going to go home and get a good night’s sleep. There has been a lot of focus on this game so let’s just go one at a time,” Brady stated. He then went on to elaborate more on his loss this past Monday night during a public post-game interview: “They [Dallas] played pretty good defensively and we just couldn’t make enough plays, we couldn’t get enough done offensively to put any pressure on them. I was trying to throw it to Chris [Godwin] and other guys were blocking… We didn’t earn it, they did. Sometimes you get lucky, but the team that earns it wins.”
