Coachella must replace Kanye West, due to the rapper recently dropping out as one of the festival’s main attractions. TMZ reported that Coachella organizers have a list of potential replacements with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the The Weeknd at the top of the list.
Sources tell us that The Weeknd is a solid contender for headliner, with the success of his new album and a pending stadium tour. While discussions between Coachella and the singer reportedly “stalled” before, it seems it’s possible that he will perform in some way. Organizers are also pushing for The Weeknd to take the stage with headliner Swedish House Mafia, admist their new collaborative tracks on Dawn FM. There have also been rumors that organizers have also had their eyes on the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The legendary band would be a perfect fit since they are getting ready for their summer tour and Coachella has yet to enlist a rock ’n’ roll act.
