Various members of Young Stoner Life Records were previously arrested on multiple RICO charges for allegedly posing as a music label in order to further pursue illegal activities. Jeffery Lamar Williams, better known as Young Thug, discovered the label back in 2016 and has opened doors for a surplus of underprivileged young men who have a common dream of making it big in the music industry. As of right now, both Young Thug and well-known rapper Gunna are being held without bond until their impending court date.
This past week, popular hip-hop artist Chris Brown took the opportunity to sit down and shed some light on his perspective of the unexpected arrest of YSL. During an exclusive interview with Drink Champs, the 33-year-old expressed his heartfelt emotions towards the touchy subject, while also speaking on his understanding from when he was previously locked up — Brown pleaded guilty to one count of assault that involved his girlfriend at the time, Rhianna.
“I know what [Young Thug and Gunna] are going through,” Chris vocalized during his live interview. “I think we always got a spotlight on us anyway… We got a lot of power and responsibility, but also people do not like that influence as well. So that also puts targets on our backs.” The No Guidance artist went on to send his prayers to the various members of YSL. “As bad as I want to help him, it’s like I have been through that too,” he said to the widely-known radio icon, Big Boy. “When you go through that, you are in there. S**t, all I can do is send my love. [They’re] my brothers, free them.”
